Home Automation Smart House Scenarios How we do it
Today's Smart House is an exciting area made up of a variety of components that include Home Automation, Lighting control, distributed Audio and Video, Surveillance cameras, Security Systems, Telephone Systems and much more. Home Automation is an exciting area that enables us to perform complex tasks by simply acting natural in our home. For instance lighting control tied in with security motion sensors allows us to turn lights on, off, dim, bright to desired levels for different time of day based on occupancy of the room. It allows us to give the home a lived in look by turning on and off lights while on vacation. When you come home a group of indoor and outdoor lights could turn on to light a path and give the family added security of entering a lit home.
Tying in a Distributed Audio and Video system would enable us to activate music from a media server to begin playing your favorite artist or genre when you arrive home during the work week. Then different music could then be selected for weekend entertainment. When you leave the house and arm the alarm, the system automatically turns off the music, adjusts the lighting, and can forward your phone calls to your cell phone.
The Home Automation system provides both convenience and energy savings by automatically shutting or opening your drapes or shades and adjusting the tilt of blinds according to the position of the sun. Using integrated HVAC thermostats you are able to control and remotely adjust the temperature of you home or individual rooms while on route via you cell phone or from any PDA or computer on the home network. You may also use a web enabled device to access your home automation system from anywhere on the planet. Arming the alarm system at night or during the day can also adjusted the temperature settings in the home.
Many of these functions can be controlled by the integration of the following user interfaces:
Wall Mounted Keypads
Wall Mounted Touch Screens
Wireless Devices (Remotes or PDA's)
Voice Activated
With a totally integrated home automation system we are able to set up programs that shut down the HVAC system during the event of a fire to prevent fueling the fire with additional air. We are also able to prevent the HVAC system from heating the home unnecessarily while certain windows or doors are left open during Sunday or spring cleaning.
